Celebration of Emerging Voices

The e-book features contributions from emerging and amateur writings who participated in the NL Writes Short Story Competition. The competition emphasized inclusive participation, reflection, and dialogue, while featuring mentorship, feedback, and celebration. Read more about the NL Writes journey in the preface of the collection. Soon, we will release a podcast about the journey, the authors’ experiences, and the roles that stories play in contributing to Newfoundland and Labrador 2024 Year of the Arts!

The collection feature 16 stories about Newfoundland and Labrador, from an outstanding cohort of writers in the province.
These authors with other contributions to the 2024 Year of the Arts were recently celebrated at the Ocean People Inspire event on September 12th at the Lantern. Check out the event and what was shared by clicking here.
